PARTICIPATING MAD INCUBATOR RESIDENTS

Anna Tou

Anna Tou is a ceramicist with a background in type design. She earned her Diplôme des Métiers d'Art (DMA) from the École supérieure des arts graphiques Estienne and went on to study motion design at Gobelins School, where she was able to merge creativity with technology. Now based in Brussels, she works as a freelance designer, collaborating with fashion and gastronomy brands on branding and visual design. Her professional experience also includes a range of projects in graphic design and art direction. During a two-year stay in Toronto, Anna discovered the world of ceramics - an art form that would go on to play a central role in her career. She was trained by Japanese ceramicist Joni Moriyama and quickly developed a deep passion for the craft. Upon returning to Brussels, she enrolled at the local art academy to further refine her skills. Today, she runs her own studio from her home in Brussels, where she produces her work and offers workshops and training sessions.

Chateau Resort

Antoine Guitou is a versatile textile designer. He studied art history at the École du Louvre, specializing in fashion and costume from East Asia. After internships at the Musée d'Orsay and Balenciaga, he shifted his focus to fashion design at La Cambre and contributed to Lacoste’s runway collection. Disillusioned by the lack of environmental responsibility in the fashion industry, his career took a new direction. He became involved in event production and artistic projects within the queer scene, before transitioning into the world of furniture craftsmanship. There, he collaborated with artisans on the traditional upholstery of armchairs. This experience introduced him to age-old techniques and forms of craftsmanship that would deeply influence his creative process and ultimately lead to the launch of his own brand, Chateau Resort, in 2021.

Paulineplusluis

Pauline Capdo and Luis Bellenger, both industrial designers, come from the French regions of Les Landes and Normandy. Their paths crossed in 2011 during their studies at the Institut Saint-Luc in Tournai. Their professional journey began in the classroom, where they discovered a shared interest in lighting. After completing a Master's in Industrial Design at La Cambre, they decided to combine their talents and founded their own studio: paulineplusluis. Winning the MAD Surprize! Young Belgian Design Award marked the official founding of their studio in 2015. The duo made a name for themselves at prestigious fairs such as Salone Satellite in Milan, which opened the door to international recognition and drew the attention of publishers. In 2024, they were named Designers of the Year by Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend magazines.

Stan Vrebos

Stan Vrebos, who graduated as an architect from the KUL in Brussels, is a Belgian scenographer. From an early stage, he focused his attention on event scenography. In 2019, he designed the two main stages for the Habitat Festival in Leuven, exploring the potential of modularity and rental systems. From 2018 to 2023, he worked closely with the HORST Arts & Music Festival on the production of architectural and artistic scenography. His collaboration with the festival encompassed various projects, ranging from the coordination and construction of installations to the creation of supporting structures for art and light installations. Furthermore, he has collaborated with RESET and, in 2023, designed scenographic projects for the events of Nuits Sonores Brussels. Drawing from his experience in installations and scenography, Stan Vrebos developed his Constant project. Through this project, he explores ephemeral architecture using rented materials and 3D-printed connectors made from recyclable PETG.
